You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it! Regards,

This Forbes article is a classic example of a "contributor" blogging with a half baked point-of-view and a legit news brand giving it credibility because they need online content. The statement in the article that says "More than half of Facebook users say they seldom visit a brand's page once they tell the rest of the world it's a keeper" is remarkably stupid. Facebook is designed so that, once you "Like" a person or a brand, their future posts all show up on YOUR wall. By design, you don't go back to the brand's Facebook page because you don't need to. For example: Walmart has 5M fans and iTunes has 13M fans. There posts are highly transactional opportunities to buy products and music which are very relevant to their fans. Those posts show up on the Fan's wall and the engagement with the post does not require every going back to the brand's FB page. That is kind of the whole point of FB and this so-called journalist does not even understand that. Spare me.

The Wall Street Journal made this work because they started with a subscription model for online and many readers can EXPENSE the cost of WSJ.com to their employers. It is a lot harder to get your boss to pay you back for your subscription to the NY Times.
