Advertising Week is alive and well. Audrey Siegel & Steve Minichini attended the Opening Gala at the Minskoff theater last night. It’s great to see old friends and to make new friends as well. TargetCast gets in the mix today at the MobileAdSummit at 4:45 with Steve Minichini participating within the panel discussion Apps: The Game Changer. The event will be held at B.B. Kings Blues Club.
Tomorrow is HUGE. TargetCast will host the Evolution or Extinction Series for Print & Radio at the Paley Center for Media. The discussion, moderated by Steve Farella, Audrey Siegel and Harlan Schwarz will kick off at 9:00 AM.
Tweets and Blog posts to come. Stay tuned.
Opening Gala - Advertising Week

I’ve been involved with Advertising Week many times in the past. I love the events, meeting new people and catching up with old friends. This year seems different – a little more exciting if you will!! The ad industry has taken a beating throughout this recession, but everything feels positive right now. You can see the inspiration an optimism leading up to the first event on Monday.
TargetCast will show up in a big way. I will participate on a panel entitled Apps: The Game Changer. This discussion will focus on how apps are changing the face of mobile and advertising one download at a time. I’m pumped to participate in this discussion – the venue is unbelievable. It will be held at B.B.Kings Blues Club on Tuesday night at 4:45.
On Wednesday, TargetCast will be hosting Evolution or Extinction: How will Print and Radio Make the Transition to Digital? The event will be held at the Paley Center for Media. Steve Farella, Audrey Siegel and Harlan Schwarz will moderate the panel. Record attendance is expected.
We’ll tweet and blog as the week rolls on. This should be memorable!

Portuguese ad agency, Torke, developed this advertising jargon bingo to promote their business and in turn, giving all other agencies the ability to laugh at the language that they all use on a regular basis. ‘Flash Mob’ is a personal favorite.

At TargetCast tcm we not only work as a team in the office to get the job done, but also on the wiffle ball field! We’ve participated the past two years in Zog Sports Wiffle Ball league, which helps to raise money for various charities. Our unity in the office has led to a Championship last year, and a great start so far this season.

“You’re going to reap what you sow, whether that is happiness and joy, or terror and misery. It’s your choice. Before you take an action ask yourself if you’re willing to be on the receiving end of the consequences, because someday you will be.”

I love this quote – I think about it often. It’s a re-post from one of my fav blogs. It helps me make decisions and guides me through certain circumstances. Consider it the next time you feel challenged and in need of guidance.
A Media 101 video has been making its rounds throughout the internet. Like other memes, the true origins of this video are unclear.
What IS apparent is that it was created by someone on the publisher side of the media space.
The tone of the video also suggests that agency – side media planners are incompetent and not very coherent. Take a look. It’s worth a laugh or two.
